Trekking Kilimanjaro Information
Trek Kilimanjaro: the best time to visit
In contrast to other popular mountaineering destinations, you may climb Kilimanjaro trek expeditions are available all year round, however there April-May (“the big rainy season”) and November (“the small rainy season”) are rainy months in Tanzania. At the same time, they feature two great advantages:
- the number of other climbers on the Mount Kilimanjaro is minimal.
- The wildlife is booming in the rainy season
At the same time, Lemosho and Northern Circuit Route are the least frequented routes throughout the whole year. Therefore you should not specifically focus on the rainy seasons if you prefer a seclusive Mt. Kilimanjaro trek. Opting for Lemosho and Norther Circuit routes is always a good alternative.
See our Kilimanjaro trek best time of year article for further insights.

ClimbingHi everyone! I and my wife went to Tanzania for a honeymoon and of course we decided to do the most important thing - to conquer the top of Africa. Our friends have recommended us Altezza Travel company. We discussed our climbing and safari remotely. I think prices are rather high but as a reward we got a better quality compared with competitors. Altezza company has a new equipment: tents, sleeping bags, even their safari car is new and very cool! During the ascent the team took care of us. Surely they were earning money but they did their work well. It is not so easy to find such good team. It is a chief’s merit! I have some tips for those who are going to conquer Kilimanjaro, firstly, don’t doubt, it is very cool! Secondly, choose only Altezza Travel! We do not have any bad emotions or any remarks. Everything was great!">
Climbing and SafariMy trip to Tanzania was a memorable one. I think that everyone needs to see the African wildlife through your own eyes, is unlike anything else. Everything is special here: great reserves with unusual trees and unique animals, mode of life of Tanzanians and snowbound peak of Kilimanjaro. So interesting to watch the animals in their natural habitat. They do not pay attention to observers and doing their own things: eat, sleep, hunt, mate and breed – I was able to see all of it and took pictures of the camera :) Honestly, there are a lot of different type of exotic animals. They are different, some species coexist together. Guides were talking with eac... trip to Tanzania was a memorable one. Guides were talking with each other and pass the information where some of them noticed an interesting animal, so we were able to see all the animals that have been at this point in the park. My hotel was almost in the city center, which gave me a chance to walk along the streets and look at the lives of Tanzanians. In spite of my poor English I managed to talk with some locals, although they all wanted to sale useless stuff to me. :) However, they gave up after one or two refusals and then just agreed to chat with me. Of course the impression would be incomplete without climbing. Going uphill for 5 days was not only a good challenge, but also a fascinating journey through an unusual area with unique flora and fauna. On the day of the summit we had a trek for about 4-5 hours to the summit camp, then rest, and at night climb about 6-7 hours. It was not easy, but not too hard. The feeling that you are with every meter closer to the highest point of Africa, gave strength. When I saw in the distance a cherished plate, broke into a smile and tiredness disappeared. At the approach I took the camera out and filmed the moment of summiting the peak. I remember that I cried as if conquered Everest :)">
